REWARD$: FBI Offering $10,000 And $5,000 Payouts In Hunt For Local Bank Robbers

The FBI is offering rewards for the "Shady Bandit" (top) and
"Benchwarmer Bandit" (bottom).
All right. The FBI has had just about enough out of the two bank robbers who've targeted TCF banks inside Jewel stores. Eight times.

One of the thieves has hit three branches since his debut on March 16.

The FBI this morning announced a reward of up to $5,000 for information leading to the arrest of the male offender, now dubbed the "Benchwarmer Bandit," who robbed a TCF branch in Boystown on March 16, another branch in Uptown, and a branch on Ashland this Monday.

He is described as a male Hispanic, 5'9" to 6' tall, 25 to 30 years old.

For those interested in a little extra spending cash, the FBI is offering a reward of up to $10,000 for the woman who started all of this, the so-called "Shady Bandit."

She is black, female, about 35 years old, with a dark complexion.

"Shady," who has struck the Boystown branch twice, also robbed TCF branches inside of three Uptown and Andersonville Jewel stores.

Tipsters can contact the FBI at 312-421-6700 or dial 911.

  1. It's about time. I'm still pretty shocked they haven't made any progress whatsoever in catching either of thes3e people. I mean seriously, they're the FBI. I'd expect them to come up with some progress or leads in all this time (with the Shady Bandit).

    1. The FBI is too busy reading your email and text messages and listening to your phone calls to address real crime like this.

  2. Benchwarmer Bandit should have a larger reward then Shady Bandit because the Benchwarmer used his fingers as to display a gun. Can I jump off this planet now?

    1. Indeed, Benchwarmer is to be considered "armed and dangerous" per the FBI poster. Shady isn't.

    Predictions...

    - Benchwarmer lives in or very near Boystown. Hit the Broadway Jewel first because he'd never robbed a bank before and opted to pick the target closest to his house/apt
    - He reads this blog.
    - People pass him on the street here every day
    - He'll be caught within two weeks

    1. What going on J. Only right on first account with respect, my opinion. She stayed at a homeless shelter in 19 and possibly struck up a conversation with him is my shot. These are easy no plan stupid grabs for the taking.

  4. Whether these are professionally planned bank robberies or not. The fact is these 2 keep hitting a very vulnerable bank and getting away with it.
